Sustainable farming based on a typical ecosystem in the growing area, Gesha Village develops indigenous varieties of Gesha, Gesha 1931, and Gori Gesha. Finished products used for non-auction lots are rigorously selected and evaluated through a cupping process at their lab in Addis Ababa. Following the official protocols of the Specialty Coffee Association, Gesha Village evaluates batches through multiple rounds to determine the level and potential of flavor development that corresponds to coffee groups from ultra-premium Rarities to Chaka delicate.

This group of coffees represents 10 percent of Gesha Village’s total farm output. These fine coffees are full of complex and extremely rare flavors. The Rarities group coffees are the top coffees that Gesha Village produces outside the familiar auction lots. Growers reserve

These special micro-lots make up 15% of Gesha Village’s production. The batch of coffee exhibits outstanding flavor attributes and excellent quality, scoring 88 or above on the SCA 100 scale.

Single-Terroir

These lots come from a separate farm area at Gesha Village. The farm will provide complete traceability information on each batch number included in the Single-Terroir line, including farm lot name, coffee variety, and processing date.
