Colombia
Colombia is a hybrid variety between Caturra and Hybrido de Timor. This variety was researched from 1968 to 1982 by the Coffee Research Center – Ceincafe, with successful results. It played a crucial role in saving Colombia’s coffee industry after the devastating coffee leaf rust epidemic in 1983.
Thanks to its good disease resistance and stable yields, Colombia became the key variety that helped restore the country’s coffee industry. Colombia coffee plants thrive in regions with moderate elevations, tolerating diverse climatic conditions and producing coffee beans of consistent quality.
