Caturra
Caturra is an Arabica coffee variety, derived from a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety, characterized by its dwarfism, ease of cultivation, and special adaptation to mountainous terrain.
The leaves, cherries, and beans of this variety are notably larger than those of many other popular coffee types. Caturra cherries ripen early and display a vibrant, deep red color, creating an eye-catching visual appeal from the very first glance. Additionally, the skin of Caturra beans is thinner, which optimizes the processing and drying stages.
This variety is widely cultivated in Latin American countries, especially Colombia and Costa Rica. To achieve high quality during growth and harvest, Caturra requires cultivation at altitudes ranging from 1.493 to 1.670 meters, accompanied by ideal rainfall of 2.500 to 3.500 mm per year.
