TR9
TR9 (414) is a high-yield Robusta coffee variety developed by Western Highlands Agro-Forestry Scientific and Technical Institute (Eakmat) and officially recognized in 2011. It grows vigorously, resists coffee leaf rust well, and adapts to various soils and climates—especially in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
The variety delivers consistently high yields, ranging from 5 to 7 tons of green beans per hectare. It produces uniformly ripened, dark red cherries with large, even beans of good quality, making it ideal for commercial Robusta coffee production. Harvest typically occurs in December, allowing growers flexibility in harvest planning while ensuring bean quality.
TR9 thrives in well-aerated basaltic soil with a pH of 5–6.5 and requires sufficient watering, especially in the dry season. Regular pruning, fertilizing, and disease monitoring help maintain high yields and stable income.
