Solubility
Solubility refers to the compounds in coffee beans that can dissolve in water. Essentially, brewing coffee is the process of using water as a solvent to extract these soluble compounds locked within the coffee cells – in other words, it is the process of dissolution or solubility.
Each component in coffee has a different solubility level, from salts, sugars, and acids to phenols, fats, and lipids, with each requiring a specific amount of time to dissolve in water.
