Percolator
Percolator is a coffee brewing device that works by continuously cycling hot water through coffee grounds. It has three main parts: the base, the filter basket, and the top lid. The base holds the water, while the filter basket above it contains the coffee grounds.
When the water boils, the pressure pushes the hot water up the central tube, flowing through the coffee grounds in the filter basket. The brewed coffee drips back down into the base and repeats this cycle until it reaches the desired strength.
The percolator is popular for its ease of use, affordability, and ability to brew large quantities, making it suitable for families or groups. However, it has some drawbacks, including difficulty to controling the flavor, a higher risk of over-extraction leading to bitterness, and not retaining heat well.
