Giải thích thuật ngữ: Maragogypelà gì?

Maragogype is an Arabica coffee variety first discovered in 1870 in the Maragogipe region of Bahia, Brazil.

It is the result of a natural mutation from the Typica cultivar, producing beans significantly larger than typical Arabica—hence the nickname “elephant beans”. The plant is also characterized by its oversized leaves and cherries.

However, Maragogype tends to have low yield and is highly susceptible to diseases such as coffee leaf rust, making it challenging to cultivate and less common in commercial production. Still, this variety remains appreciated among coffee enthusiasts for its delicate flavor profile, balanced acidity, and lingering aftertaste.
