Giải thích thuật ngữ: Limescalelà gì?

Limescale is a mineral deposit from hard water, commonly found in coffee machines, especially in the heating element and pipes. When the water heats up, minerals like calcium and magnesium precipitate and adhere to the inner surfaces of the machine.

This accumulation can affect the flavor of coffee, creating a bitter taste and unpleasant aftertaste. Additionally, limescale can harbor bacteria and harmful microorganisms, posing a health risk if not removed regularly.

To prevent limescale, it is necessary to maintain appropriate water hardness (around 50 ppm) and regularly clean the machine with descaling solutions such as citric acid or specialized detergents. Regular maintenance helps extend the lifespan of the equipment as well as ensure the quality of the coffee.
