Giải thích thuật ngữ: Javalà gì?

Java is a prime example of a high-quality Arabica variety cultivated in Central America. It is well-known for its strong resistance to common coffee diseases and low fertilizer requirements, making it particularly suitable for smallholder farms.

The origin of Java dates back to 1696, when the Dutch brought Arabica coffee from Yemen to the island of Java in Indonesia. By 1711, the first shipments of Java coffee were exported to Europe—establishing Java as one of the earliest and most celebrated coffee-growing regions in the world.

Modern genetic research by World Coffee Research has revealed that the Java variety found today actually descends from a wild Ethiopian coffee population known as Abysinia. This discovery places Java among the very few Ethiopia Landrace varieties that have been successfully isolated and cultivated worldwide—the other being Geisha.
