Immersion
Immersion is a coffee brewing method where coffee grounds are fully steeped in hot water for a longer duration than drip brewing, allowing for a more complete flavor extraction.
Common immersion brewing methods include French Press, Siphon, and Aeropress, each with its own steeping time and extraction process. This method allows for greater flavor extraction, is simple to execute, and does not require complex pouring techniques.
However, immersion brewing can be difficult to control, as over-steeping may lead to over-extraction, resulting in a bitter taste. Additionally, some methods may leave sediment in the cup.
