Chelbesa is largest coffee growing area in Gedeb woreda with a total area of 1,240 hectares of coffee farms.
The surrounding villages of Banko Gotiti, Chelchele and Halo also produce one of the best coffees in Gedeb woreda.
The current harvest of 2018/19 season was impacted by unseasonal and heavy rainfall immediately followed by a quick cherry maturation or ripening cycle with the color of the cherry turned deep red.
