Tariku Kare’s Refisa washing station, located in the heart of Nensebo woreda 400km south of Addis Ababa, serves as a destination for 593 farmers from Refisa, Roricho, Bulga, and Riripa villages.
From a 15-year-old cherry sorter, Tariku has built a chain of washing stations through years of dedication, with a unique business philosophy of consistently paying above-market prices for ripe cherries.
Situated in a new coffee region classified as Sidama D by ECX, Nensebo with its 5,000 hectares of coffee at altitudes up to 2200m is home to diverse local and wild coffee varieties, creating distinctive flavor profiles for the region’s products.
