Kinini

First time cooperation: 2021

Cooperation model: Indirect Trade

Kinini, meaning “this big thing right here”, is an ambitious project by Jacquie Turner and Malcolm Clear in Rwanda’s Northern Province.

From building schools for genocide-affected children, they expanded their vision into coffee in 2014 with a unique model: signing land “lease” agreements with local farmers, providing seedlings, training, and organizational support.

The Kinini washing station now serves 48 members from Tumba village, 85% being women, achieved a coffee score of 87 in their first production year, and dedicates 10% of profits directly to community development projects.
