Portafilter
A portafilter, also known as a handle, is a crucial component of an espresso machine. It consists of a handle, a portafilter body, and a filter basket that holds tightly packed ground coffee and is attached to the machine’s group head to extract espresso.
The portafilter works by directing high-pressure hot water through a tightly packed layer of coffee in the filter basket. This process will extract the coffee, giving a rich, aromatic espresso.
