Organic Acids
Organic acids are compounds that contain a carboxyl group (-COOH), and when dissolved in water, they release hydrogen ions (H+), often giving a sour taste.
Some common examples of organic acids include acetic acid (found in vinegar), citric acid (found in sour fruits like oranges and lemons), formic acid (found in honey), and butyric acid (found in yogurt). Organic acids have various applications in daily life as well as in industry, ranging from food, pharmaceuticals, to cosmetics and chemicals.
