Binomial nomenclature
Binomial nomenclature is a Latin-based system for naming living organisms, consisting of two parts: the genus name, which comes first, and the species name, which follows. For example, in Coffea arabica, “Coffea” is the genus, while “arabica” is the species.
This system is widely used worldwide to ensure consistency and avoid confusion in the classification of organisms. In scientific writing, these names must always be italicized.
