Bergundal
Bergundal, also known as Garundang, is an Arabica coffee variety from the Typica group, primarily grown in the highlands of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Introduced by the Dutch in the late 17th century, the variety has since adapted well to the region’s unique climate and soil conditions. While it is not a high-yielding cultivar, Bergundal is appreciated for its cup quality and resilience in local growing environments.
Today, Bergundal continues to be cultivated by smallholder farmers, especially in Sumatra, where the variety thrives thanks to the favorable terroir.
