Finca El Cascajal is located in Aldea San Nicolas, the Municipality of Esquipulas, Chiquimula department, in eastern Guatemala, Central America, 8 kilometers from the county seat and 230 of the capital of the Republic of Guatemala.
/1/ HISTORY
Founded in 1.992 by Don Francisco Amadeo Palencia Rivas, the farm has 630 apples with coffee plantations and 500 acres of forest inhabited by 176 species of birds and 112 species of orchids, including Ornithocephalus cascajalensis Archila, discovered in 2,011 by the Botanical Fredi Archila Morales.
The environmental management model farm is based on innovation constantly to achieve a production of coffee with the highest standards of quality targeted a highly demanding market, but in harmony with the environment and committed to the conservation of flora and local fauna.
The farm also functions as a corridor extension and transfer of agricultural technology, both for farmers in the area or region to rural development programs, organizations and governmental and non-governmental institutions.
