Privam Estate is a 23-acre family farm established in 2012 in Embu County, Kenya. Located on a highland plateau with direct views of Mount Kenya, at 1,700 meters elevation, the farm specializes in SL28, Ruiru 11, and Batian coffee varieties.
It’s managed by Patrick Makundi – the family’s coffee cupper, alongside his wife Rita Makundi – the primary farm operator.
2018 marked a milestone when the farm obtained its own pulping license and built a wet mill, becoming independent from the local cooperative. With complete control over the process from harvest to processing, Privam Estate has established itself as a high-quality coffee producer. Their family management model and market adaptability have enabled sustainable growth in Kenya’s coffee industry.
